Years ago I met a lady who taught me how to meditate. I didn’t think to much of it except of being something fun to do. I was surprised how many different ways I benefited from it. I think my first thoughts of meditation was, I couldn’t see how just thinking could bring great benefits. Boy! was I wrong.
There are many different ways of doing it. Focusing on breath, sounds (music), finding a mantra are just a few. Really, for me meditation works to focus my attention on me and the now, while blocking out all distracting thoughts. It really helps on clearing my mind and letting go. I always feel so lifted after. I recommend giving it a try. If one thing doesn’t work try something else. Keep trying to you found one that works for you. It wasn’t that easy in the beginning for me to focus but I kept with it and now it’s easier for me.
